Home Sweet Home
I have now been back for nearly 2 weeks. It's strange as now it hardly feel that I've been gone at all. It feels completely normal to be here. It's been so good to see all my friends and family. It really didn't feel like I hadn't seen them for a year though.
Since I last wrote, I have:
Finally went to the koala sanctuary and cuddled a koala.
Went to Singapore.
And arrived home safely to a tearful reunion. Our parents met us and then we all went for breakfast in a pub where we were waiting outside the doors for it to open at 7am.
The first day back was weird. Everything was new and exciting yet old and familiar. Mel and Jamie came to visit and then we went to see Laurie and his new house and see happy birthday to Tash. Although I did end up falling asleep on his sofa. It was an early night for me before waking up to jetlag at 3.30am. The next day involved going to see my granny and my aunties before coming home to an amazing roast dinner!
Last week I spent a few days visiting Ryan and his family in Wales and then on Saturday I had my homecoming party. It was so much fun –we had it on Friday Island, which was beautiful. We even had a bouncy castle and a hot tub, which were both amazing. The weather even stayed nice for us despite the forecast being awful all week and waking up to grey skies and rain. By the time of the party it had cleared up a bit and was just a bit on the windy side.
Here are a few photos of the party courtesy of Jeff…
I love being home.

Extreme Freestyle Motorcross
Here is the video of the crazy freestyle motorcross stunts. I was literally frightened for their lives. I just can’t imagine at what point someone decides that it’s a good idea to flip through the air on a motorbike. These people are amazing but I’m pretty sure they must be crazy. Very impressive though!

Exams=Done
FREEDOM.
Exams are all over :D.
I think they went kinda okay, except from lack of time in the 1st one. So...No more study in Australia -I have actually finished my exchange year. Crazy times hey (hey is Australian, thought I'd better use the colloquialisms while I'm still here p.s. G'day mate).
I had a super fun night out on saturday at a rooftop party, then dancing in the city with the faves Sayo and Katia. I am going to be so sad to say goodbye to everyone. I only have 5 more days here. 5 that's hardly any! I wish I had sorted out some travel plans for the end of semester, but money is a pretty big issue. I can't wait to be rich.
Today I went to Movieworld and saw the most amazing stunt show. It was advertised as Monster Trucks but really the most amazing part were the freestyle motorcross riders. I was genuinely scared for their lives. They were not only flying through the air but doing crazy stunts, flipping and even letting go of their bikes! It was so impressive, and much scarier than going on the rides.
I'm even going to upload a video...as soon as I can figure out how (but that isn't now).

The Darkest Depths of Winter
Today is so chilly. I'm revising in bed with a hoody on to avoid it. It is only 13 degrees and it is 2.30pm. Normally it heats up in the day but I guess we're heading into the darkest depths of winter. Australian's seem to forget they even have a winter, there is no source of heating in this house and it seems to be specifically designed to keep the heat out. Brrrrr.
It is currently revision week and so nothing too interesting is going on in my world. I have been going to some dance classes in the city though. I've been going to tap classes which are really, really good. I always forget how much I like Tap, but reaally I think it's my favourite. Then on tuesday night I went to a Jazz Class and it was so intense! It was listed as levels 1-2 meaning beginners to intermediate but I couldn't even keep up! Even the warm up was like a pretty hard-core exercise class. I can't even imagine what the advance class must be like. But I think I'll definately be going back -I want to be that good!
I also went to see Queensland Reds at the weekend -the rugby union team. It was a lot of fun but they lost. Me and Ryan have come to the conclusion that we are bad luck charms as everyone seems to lose when we go to watch them....
Hope you're having a nice summery time. I can't wait to be warm again when I get home! xxxxxx

Not long now...
So I have now handed in all my assignments and only have 1 more week of lectures left before exams. All of a sudden we seem to be at the end of my year abroad. In just over a month I will have taken my exams, been to Singapore and finally be back in the UK. It all seems a bit crazy. I've been here so long now that it seems normal. I've even learnt to think in dollars rather than pounds! Only now that I'm going to be leaving soon do I feel like I want to stay a bit longer. I think I will definately be coming back to Australia one day. Perhaps when I don't have such a strict budget. I still want to go to the outback and do some more diving.
But, there are a lot of things I am looking forward to at home...
It's going to be a bit sad leaving here though. x
